History of Ivinson Memorial Hospital
Ivinson Memorial Hospital first opened in 1917. To meet rising needs, it reopened in 1973 in a new, larger location, where it stands today. Since then, it has added the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center and saw another significant expansion in 2014. Ivinson currently has 99 beds.
The Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center is the area’s only option for cancer patients, and only one of eight in Wyoming. It also partners with the University of Colorado Denver – Anschutz Medical Campus to give patients access to clinical trials, transplants and more.

Mesothelioma Care at Ivinson Memorial Hospital
Ivinson Memorial Hospital’s Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center offers hematology, medical oncology and radiation oncology to its patients. All these treatments can benefit patients with mesothelioma.
The center’s staff includes:
- Three medical oncologists
- One internal medicine provider
- One radiation oncologist
- One radiation therapist
- One oncology clinical pharmacist
- Three patient care technicians
- One nurse navigator
- Nine registered nurses
- One social worker
The cancer center has a multidisciplinary tumor board that helps ensure patients get the right care from multiple specialists. This team approach to cancer care can improve outcomes and quality of life for patients.
