Diagnosed with malignant pleural mesothelioma in 2005 at just 36 years old, Heather Von St. James faced a terminal prognosis shortly after the birth of her daughter. After seeking treatment from renowned mesothelioma specialist Dr. David Sugarbaker, she underwent extensive surgery and treatment that dramatically improved her chances of survival.
Twenty years later, Heather has not only defied the odds but has also become one of the most recognizable and influential voices in the mesothelioma community. Through public speaking, media appearances, advocacy efforts and social media outreach, she has spent years helping patients and families navigate the challenges of a mesothelioma diagnosis.
