Dr. Chul Kim
Doctor Overview
Dr. Chul Kim is the director of thoracic oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is part of this system. He has experience treating cancers of the lining around the lungs (pleura), including pleural mesothelioma. He also specializes in treating lung cancer, which can be caused by asbestos exposure.
After receiving his medical degree from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Kim earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health. He later served as a fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the U.S. government's top agency for cancer research.
Dr. Kim has been published in over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has also served as a reviewer for many of his colleagues' articles. He is committed to developing innovative cancer treatments through research and clinical work.
