Ridley-Tree Cancer Center
History of Ridley-Tree Cancer Center
Ridley-Tree Cancer Center is the product of many years of health innovation in the Santa Barbara area. Its roots trace back to two medical clinics that operated independently in the early 1900s. Sansum Medical Clinic specialized in treating diabetes. The Santa Barbara Medical Clinic was one of the first multi-specialty medical practices in the country.
Nearly a decade after merging, the combined practice was renamed the Sansum Clinic in 2006. The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara joined Sansum Clinic in 2012, forming the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara with Sansum Clinic. In 2017, the group opened a new facility and took on the name of Ridley-Tree Cancer Center in honor of a generous donor.
The center offers comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment services. Its medical oncology program provides chemotherapy and immunotherapy, which are common mesothelioma treatments. Ridley-Tree also has surgical and radiation oncologists on staff. Mesothelioma patients can find a wide range of therapeutic and supportive care at this center.
