Dr. Shiven B. Patel earned his medical degree from The University of Florida prior to completing his residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. After his combined fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute, he completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Indiana University. Currently, Dr. Patel practices at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, through the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Dr. Patel has board certifications in oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He specializes in adult hematology and oncology, focusing on thoracic and thymic cancers in addition to mesothelioma. He participates in both clinical and benchtop research, hoping to drive technological advances that will improve outcomes for his patients.
