The ACandS Asbestos Settlement Trust cut its payout percentage to 3.2%, effective immediately. The trust announced the change in a notice sent to claimants and their lawyers on September 30, 2024.
The asbestos trust had paid out claims at 4.0% before the notice. The notice states the trust will honor some recent claims at the 4.0% payout, including:
- Those where signed documents were submitted before the date of the notice
- Those where settlement agreements were received fewer than 30 days before September 30 and returned within 30 days of receipt
