Nestled in the northern panhandle of West Virginia along the Ohio River, Moundsville is a small, family-based community with a strong blue-collar workforce, and a rich heritage and history. The city was named for the Grave Creek Mound, one of the largest conical type burial mounds in the United States, constructed by the Adena Indians more than 1000 years ago.
