The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance (MCA) is proud to support the Possible Dream Foundation and its continued mission to improve the quality of life of both children and adults with special needs—no matter how severe—by offering them love and care, a safe home, and a nurturing environment where they can discover what skills and purpose in their lives can lead them to reach their full potential. The MCA stands by Camille and the Possible Dream Foundation as she grieves the loss of her husband to Stage 4 mesothelioma and fights hard to keep their “Possible Dream” alive and honor her husband’s legacy.
What Is the Possible Dream Foundation?
In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities.
The Possible Dream Foundation was founded by Michael and Camille Geraldi, a husband-and-wife, doctor-and nurse couple dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. Originally established in 1986 under the name Up With Down Syndrome Foundation, the title was eventually changed to encompass the organization’s commitment to a wide range of special needs. The mission of the Possible Dream Foundation is cited as “to improve the quality of life of children and adults with Down syndrome and other disabilities by providing a loving home, a caring family and an understanding environment where individuals can reach their full potential.” Today, the Geraldi family consists of more than 40 special needs individuals, all raised, nurtured, and loved by Camille and Michael to reach their full potential despite their medical and physical challenges. After having just been diagnosed in 2015, Dr. Michael Geraldi lost his battle with stage 4 mesothelioma on March 8, 2016—devastating Camille and the entire Geraldi family. The Possible Dream Foundation is Camille’s way of carrying on her husband’s legacy and continuing the selfless and compassionate work with special needs individuals that they spent their lifetime together building. Why MCA Is a Proud Supporter
The MCA believes in supporting those in the mesothelioma community, such as Camille and the Possible Dream Foundation. Mesothelioma cancer took Dr. Michael Geraldi away from his family and his life’s work, but the MCA is committed to keeping his work alive by assisting Camille in advocating for the Possible Dream Foundation and the needs of the strong-willed and beautiful family that this organization has created.
