Overview
Dr. Manjit Bains began his medical career over 40 years ago at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He then left India to complete residencies at Queens Hospital Center in New York City, Rochester General Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Fellowships were also completed at The New York Hospital -Cornell Medical Center and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Bains is board certified in both Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Bains' currently works as a Thoracic Surgeon at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Dr. Bains clinical interests include thoracic surgical oncology, lung cancer, mediastinal tumors, mesothelioma, and pulmonary metastases. He has also had experience in video-assisted thoracic surgery, pulmonary and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including laser endoscopy as well as tracheobronchial and esophageal stents.
Publications
Dr. Bains has authored a number of scholarly articles including, "Intra-thoracic cytoreduction of stage 4 peritoneal malignancy: a case series" which was published in Gynecologic Oncology in December of 2008. He also co-authored, "Phrenic nerve injury resulting from percutaneous ablation of lung malignancy" published in the American Journal of Roentgenol in August of 2008.

Dr. Bains is a member of a number of professional societies and organizations including the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network. He is also an active participant of the General Thoracic Surgical Club and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
