Dr. Michael R. Grey

Dr. Michael R. Grey began his medical career after receiving a medical degree from the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine. He went on to complete a residency at Cambridge Hospital in Massachusetts and then a Fellowship at the University of Washington. Dr. Grey also received a master's degree in public health at the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars program at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in both internal medicine and occupational and environmental medicine.

In the academic field, Dr. Grey took a faculty position at the UConn School of Medicine in 1989 and stayed for the next 15 years. Currently, he is on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine and is a clinical professor at Yale University School of Nursing. He also serves as an adjunct clinical professor of medicine at the UConn School of Medicine, Department of Medicine and Department of Community Medicine.

Dr. Grey has worked as a physician specializing in internal and occupational medicine in Springfield, Massachusetts. He has also served as medical director and section chief in General Medicine and Geriatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Currently, Dr. Grey is the Chief of the Department of Medicine at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He oversees over 200 attending physicians and 55 residents and fellows.

Affiliations

Dr. Grey is a member of a number of professional societies and organizations and has published a number of scholarly articles. He also volunteers as a physician for local homeless centers and migrant workers. Dr. Grey has also given his time and expertise for Native American educational initiatives and international medical missionary work.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Grey has received a number of awards and honors including a four year faculty development award from the Robert Wood Johnson Generalist Physician Faculty Scholars program. He also received the Hartford County Medical Association Community Service Award in 2000.
