Enduro Block

Asbestos is an exceedingly strong mineral that can be molded into any shape. It is also resistant to cold and hot weather, rain and even fire. These attributes made it extremely serviceable as an ingredient in a vast array of industrial products. One such item was a product called Enduro Block, a specially designed industrial block known for its durability.

There were many years during which goods were created with asbestos. It was an inexpensive material that produced great results, so manufacturers all across America began to purchase more of it for use as an key ingredient in their products. All seemed well, but underneath the positive attributes of the mineral was one very serious problem: asbestos is also poisonous and was eventually found to cause mesothelioma.

The toxicity of asbestos has been known since the ancient Greeks used it to make cloth based products, but somehow that knowledge was lost when large deposits of the mineral were found throughout the United States. Eventually scientists realized what had been known so long ago - exposure to the substance can produce tissue damage, disrupted breathing and diseases like asbestosis and Mesothelioma. There are different forms of mesothelioma including peritoneal mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma. Unfortunately a large number of cases are diagnosed in the latter stages past stage 2 where the mesothelioma prognosis is generally poor. In addition, while there is a vaccine for mesothelioma prevention, there is no mesothelioma cure. Thus, the mesothelioma life expectancy rates are typically low.

In its natural form, asbestos is very dangerous. It is made up of small fibers that can be inhaled and create massive internal damage. A product like a solid block should be perfectly harmless, but if it were to be broken or cracked, the fibers can be released in the ensuing debris. The workers who participated in the manufacturing of the Enduro Block were also put at risk while handling the raw materials.

A ban was placed on the use of asbestos, although some manufacturers continued to utilize it without even letting their employees know about the danger. Had this deplorable action never taken place, fewer people would have been made sick and more lives could have been saved. Victims who were afflicted with illnesses or lost loved ones because of these contaminated products have filed thousands of of class action lawsuits against the companies that made them. Hundreds of the companies declared bankruptcy, but most were allowed to set up a trust fund for their victims and continue operating without asbestos.

If you have been affected by asbestos, you may have the right to monetary compensation. To get more mesothelioma information, request one of our free packets about asbestos and Mesothelioma.
