Located in the Blue Ridge foothills, the city of Lenoir is the county seat of Caldwell County with a population of approximately 18,000. Hibriten Mountain, a mountain marking the western end of the Brushy Mountains range, can be found within Lenoir’s city limits. Lenoir was named for the Revolutionary War hero and early North Carolina statesman, General Williams Lenoir.

Broyhill Furniture Company remains in Lenoir today as part of Furniture Brands International, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of residential furniture. In recent years, Lenoir’s economy has experienced diversification after Google, Inc. established facilities in town. Google operates a server farm and data center in the city.
