Marinite Insulating Panels

Asbestos and Industrial Insulation Products

Industrial insulation products are used all over the United States. These goods are specifically designed reduce the amount heat that is common in factories, oil refineries, power plants, chemical plants, aluminum plants and other locations. Each of these locations utilizes a variety of large equipment, producing a tremendous amount of heat. Insulation materials help to control the temperature and protect both the equipment and the employees who operate it.

What Are Marinite Insulating Panels?

Marinite Insulating Panels are 4 foot by 8 foot sized boards that are currently sold as an asbestos-free product, but that was not always the case. For many years these panels were made with the naturally occurring mineral because it can control heat and even help stop the spread of fire. This made it ideal for use in industrial settings, and also for homes, schools, churches and most any other standing structure. Aside from its heat resistant capabilities, asbestos was also extremely durable, so products made from it can last for decades. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a negative trait.

American Companies Use Asbestos to Manufacture Products

American companies began utilizing the large deposits of asbestos during the late 1800's. It was immediately recognized as an advantageous material for the construction industry, and was soon after being used for an assortment of products. About a century later, the mineral was banned by the Environmental Protection Agency following reports that proved it contained poison that was afflicting thousands of people. Microscopic particles of asbestos can easily become airborne, where they can be inhaled by anyone that gets too close. Although these individuals have no way of knowing it, the substance they have breathed in will often start to promote decay within their respiratory system. This process goes on for years and even decades, so it can be a very long time before the victims even notice anything is wrong.

Asbestos Exposure Can Lead to Mesothelioma Cancer

Asbestos also causes mesothelioma, a well known form of cancer that has received a large amount of publicity since the 1970's. The disease is a direct result of exposure to the toxic mineral, and there is no cure. There are generally three main types of mesothelioma including peritoneal mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma and pleural mesothelioma. Many people have become seriously ill, and others have died because of it. Our mesothelioma treatment guide offers much more information. Victims of this and related ailments have fought back against the companies that manufactured the dangerous goods, and filed personal injury lawsuits with mesothelioma attorneys to demand monetary compensation for their pain, suffering and losses. Almost all of the businesses that were sued ended up filing for bankruptcy protection. This procedure allowed them to continue operating as long as they created and maintained a trust fund to pay off all valid claims.
