Educational Background
Dr. Mark W. Lischner began his medical career after receiving a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He then went on to earn a medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. After graduating he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete his Internship and Residency at Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University Hospital.
Moving back north, Dr. Lischner completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He then went on to focus on research in the Department of Pharmacology at Oxford University in Oxford, England. He is a Diplomat of both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pulmonary Diseases.
Professional Highlights and Affiliations
Dr. Lischner specializes in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease as well as sleep medicine. His medical interests are: asthma, mesothelioma, interstitial fibrosis, asbestosis and sarcoidosis. He currently works as a Physician with the Sutter Physician Alliance in Roseville, California and is affiliated with Sutter Roseville Medical Center and Sutter Independent Physicians. Dr. Lischner is also affiliated with Mercy San Juan Hospital, Mercy Folsom Hospital, and Kindred.
As a member of many professional organizations, he is active in the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Chest Physicians. In the state of California he participates in the California Thoracic Society, the California Medical Association, The Sacramento Medical Society and as previously mentioned the Sutter Independent Physicians, a group of over 475 private practice professionals from a range of medical backgrounds.
Publications
Dr. Lischner has contributed to a number of papers, articles and studies. A few of his publications that he co-authored include; "Prevalence of Respiratory Symptoms in an Industrial Population" was published in an issue of the Chest Journal, and "A Study of Pneumoconiosis-Respiratory Symptoms & Physical Disability Among Those Exposed to Dusts in the Occupation," was published in the Digestive Diseases and Sciences.
