USG makes final $3.05 bln payment to asbestos trust
USG Corp. said on Thursday it made a final payment of $3.05 billion into its asbestos personal injury trust, ending the building materials maker's financial obligations under a settlement announced in January 2006.

Owens Corning, the world's largest maker of insulation products, said it will pay $5.2 billion to asbestos victims and $2.5 billion to creditors in a settlement that would let the company exit bankruptcy this year.
