Mesthelioma
Mesthelioma is a common misspelled variation of the word mesothelioma. The cause of mesothelioma is inhalation of the toxic mineral asbestos. Mesothelioma cancer is a very devastating form of cancer, often referred to as asbestos cancer. It continues to strike victims worldwide, particularly those who once worked with asbestos on a daily basis, including miners, shipyard workers, construction workers, welders, insulators, plumbers, electricians, and many others.
The disease develops when sharp asbestos fibers lodge in the chest area and cause tumors to form. There are generally three types of mesothelioma: pleural mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma and peritoneal mesothelioma. Mesothelioma treatment can involve surgery and other traditional cancer treatments, but doctors consider mesothelioma to be one of the toughest cancers to fight.
Victims of mesothelioma are generally older individuals who worked with the mineral prior to 1980, but younger people who were exposed during childhood have also been diagnosed. Many individuals who developed mesothelioma hired mesothelioma attorneys to sue the companies that caused their exposure.Other common misspellings:
