Mesotholoma
Mesotholoma is a misspelling of the asbestos cancer "mesothelioma." Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer that most often occurs in individuals who worked with asbestos for a prolonged period of time. The disease, however, has also been diagnosed in those who suffered intense exposure for short periods of time, such as 9/11 emergency responders.
Located most often in the lining of the lungs (pleural mesothelioma), malignant mesothelioma is responsible for the death of 2,000 to 3,000 Americans annually as well as many victims in other countries where asbestos was or is used. Caused when sharp asbestos fibers are lodged in the chest area and form tumors, mesothelioma cancer is a particularly aggressive form of cancer and the treatment options, though improving, offer little hope for victims.
Mesothelioma attorneys have filed tens of thousands of lawsuits for victims who developed mesothelioma disease on the job, including those who worked in chemical plants, oil refineries, power plants and aluminum plants.
