Mesotheliopma
Mesotheliopma is a misspelling of the word "mesothelioma." Asbestos exposure is the only thing known to cause mesothelioma. For more than three quarters of the twentieth century, a myriad of individuals were exposed to asbestos on the job in aluminum plants, oil refineries and chemical plants and through do-it-yourself home projects. As a result, there are many individuals that to this day continue to receive a mesothelioma diagnosis .
Mesothelioma cancer, though much rarer than many forms of cancer, is difficult to treat. Pericardial mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma and pleural mesothelioma are the most common types of the disease. Though mesothelioma doctors and researchers are constantly developing new drugs and new therapies to battle this form of cancer, it doesn’t always respond favorably to treatment. The result is a short life span for those who are unfortunate enough to develop the disease.
In many cases, mesothelioma could have been avoided, but many employers continued the use of asbestos even though they were aware of the fact that their workers were developing severe pulmonary problems. Years later, that negligence has resulted in a plethora of lawsuits by mesothelioma lawyers against companies who allowed asbestos exposure to continue.
