Mesothelemoa

Mesothelemoa is sometimes a misspelling that people make in looking for information on “mesothelioma." For over 30 years, this form of asbestos cancer has been diagnosed in many thousands of people. Blue collar industrial workers and people who served in the military (especially the Navy) are most commonly affected by this disease. Some of these individuals worked in chemical plants, powerhouses and universities while others bravely served their country as they were stationed on Navy ships or worked in Naval shipyards. Wherever they worked, the one common denominator they shared is that they were all exposed to asbestos while “on the job.”

Before the mid 70’s, asbestos was used without pause in numerous building projects and manufacturing settings. Thousands of asbestos products were made by numerous different companies and each boasted exceptional fire-proofing capability. Products made with asbestos did indeed do the job in extreme heat situations and it was also an inexpensive raw material to use in the manufacturing process. This made it highly a desirable and sought after commodity.

Asbestos lost its great appeal however as soon as the U.S. government banned the use of it back in the early 80’s. Even though the connection between asbestos and mesothelioma had been established before that time, companies were unwilling to stop producing it or the products that contained it. This continued to put workers, like those described above, at tremendous risk without their knowing.

As a result many mesothelioma victims chose to seek counsel from mesothelioma lawyers to bring suit against these companies that intentionally withheld information from innocent workers.
