Mesithilioma
Mesithilioma is a commonly misspelled variation of the term "mesothelioma." In the majority of cases, someone diagnosed with mesothelioma has been exposed to asbestos at some point in time. Mesothelioma cancer has affected a great number of lives in people from all walks of life, but the rate of diagnosis tends to be concentrated among those who worked in certain trades and professions especially those who served in the military.
For instance, service men and women who were stationed on navy ships or who worked in the nations shipyards were highly likely to be subjected to asbestos exposure while serving their country. This occurred frequently in boiler rooms where asbestos was heavily used and worked with during repair operations. There were also many other areas on ships and in shipyards where veterans were exposed to this harmful substance while “on the job.” As a result we are seeing widespread cases of mesothelioma being diagnosed among Navy veterans today.
