Mesatheoma
Mesatheoma is a common misspelling of the term "mesothelioma." Anyone that is diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer was once exposed to asbestos during their lifetime as there is a proven causal relationship.
Mesothelioma can affect people from all walks of life but the veteran population has seen a proportionately larger number of diagnosed cases. This is because Navy veterans were unknowingly exposed to asbestos while serving on Navy ships or while working at Navy shipyards. Unfortunately a mesothelioma cure has not yet been identified but leading mesothelioma doctors including Dr. David Sugarbaker at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute have helped patients achieve significantly improved quality of life.
Mesothelioma chemotherapy, surgery and radiation are considered the traditional forms of treatment, but a growing number of alternative mesothelioma treatments are now available to complement and minimize the side effects that that affect almost every patient.
