Mesathemoia
Mesathemoia is a frequently misspelled variation of the word "mesothelioma." Known more commonly as asbestos cancer, mesothelioma is a disease that is caused from exposure to asbestos. This disease is diagnosed in fewer than 4,000 individuals a year and affects the lining of three primary organs. They are the lungs (pleural mesothelioma), the heart (pericardial mesothelioma) and the peritoneum (peritoneal mesothelioma).
Most often a mesothelioma prognosis is not a favorable one but top doctors at mesothelioma cancer centers across the country utilize state of the art medicine to treat mesothelioma. Chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy are considered conventional treatments for this asbestos-related disease but there is also a wide range of alternative mesothelioma treatments available to patients. Mesothelioma has a long latency period which means that there is a long lag between exposure and when symptoms begin to occur.
