Naval Station Everett
Located in Everett, WA, Naval Station Everett is the Navy's most modern shipyard. Established in 1983, it is home to the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is a Nimitz Class aircraft carrier. At the time of the naval yard's creation, Congress decided that the naval fleet which was in a few concentrated areas, should be dispersed into more bases. Everett was chosen from thirteen possible ports. With a $56 million budget, the Navy began construction of the new pier.

Currently, Naval Station Everett houses one aircraft carrier, two Coast Guard cutters, three frigates and two destroyers. The facility is able to accommodate about six thousand troops.
This large base has a massive impact in stimulating the local economy, adding about $350 million a year. As with most shipyards, this naval base offers a huge number of jobs to local workers.
