Dr. Philippe A. Chahinian began his medical career at the Paris School of Medicine in Paris, France graduating in 1969. He then went on to complete a Residency at Paris University in 1974 and then moved to the United States to complete a Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in 1976.

Professional Highlights

Dr. Chahinian is a respected oncologist and skilled physician in the treatment of mesothelioma. He previously served on the staff of the Derald H. Ruttenberg Treatment Center at the Mount Sinai Medical Center located in the Guggenheim Pavilion Treatment Center and is retired at this time. While at Mount Sinai he specialized in Internal Medicine and had a sub-specialty in Medical Oncology. His medical interests included lung cancer, thoracic oncology and thymoma.

Publications

Dr. Chahinian has published a number of scholarly articles and papers and served as the editor of several books. His paper, "Gastrointestinal Autonomic Nerve Tumor in the Colon," was published in the International Journal of Surgical Pathology and was co-authored by Dr. Beverly Y. Wang, Dr. Margaret S. Brandwein, Dr. Ronald E. Gordon, Dr. James A. Strauchen and Dr. Noam Harpaz. He also was the co-editor of the 2002 book Mesothelioma with Dr. Bruce W.S. Robinson and co-authored, Lung Cancer, with Dr. Lucien Israel in the mid 1970's.

Dr. Chahinian has been interviewed for a number of popular publications including New York Magazine. Fluent in three languages, he is a well know speaker, holding numerous lectures worldwide and recently severed as the moderator at the 2008 Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium in New York City.
