Dr. Nepal C. Chowdhury is a board certified thoracic surgeon. He attended medical school at the Institute of Post-Graduate Medicine and Research in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He then completed a residency at the Harlem Hospital Center in New York, New York followed by a fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Chowdhury went on to become an instructor at the University of Alabama and left in 2005 to take a position as an attending in Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgery in Yakima, Washington. Presently, he is at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia as an attending.

Dr. Chowdhury's specialties include adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery and peripheral vascular surgery. His medical interests are redo cardiac surgery, aortic root surgery, mitral valve repair, arrhythmia surgery, thoracic oncology, video assisted throacoscopic surgery (a treatment option for mesothelioma cancer patients - including patients with peritoneal mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma), VATS Lobectomy and stenting of AAA and PVD.
