Dr. Arthur Mcunu began his medical career by earning his medical degree and completing his residency at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then left to complete a fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified and practices Thoracic Surgery at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

As a thoracic surgeon, Dr. Mcunu treats patients with mesothelioma as they often require surgery within the thorax, or the area between the neck and abdomen. Pericardial mesothelioma, occurs within the lining of the heart, and peritoneal mesothelioma, manifests within the abdomen.
