The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance is recognizing Mesothelioma Awareness Day with a number of special features on our site! Check back throughout the day to see our coverage of the day. Below are some of the special events we’ll be featuring today.
Initiated by advocates from the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation on September 26th of 2004, Mesothelioma Awareness Day has been growing in scope and national recognition every year since.
Exclusive Live Coverage
Mesothelioma survivor Heather Von St. James will be providing live coverage of events in New York City here on this blog, including a wrap-up of the day’s events from Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.
Heather’s visit will include appearing on NBC’s Today Show with other advocacy volunteers from the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation. Heather will also visit Ground Zero in honor of not only the men and women who lost their lives on September 11th 2001, but also those who are still today affected by toxic asbestos exposure from the attacks.
Connecting Our Visitors Through Social Media
Heather will be providing live tweeting and Facebook coverage of the events, including pictures and her unique perspectives on this important day. Follow her coverage @CancerAlliance and view her pictures from the day here.
