Lying near the southeast corner of the state, Cheyenne is the capital and largest city of Wyoming with a population of approximately 59,000. Frontier is still in business today and although headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company maintains refineries in Cheyenne as well as El Dorado, Kansas. Frontier’s Cheyenne refinery has a capacity of 52,000 barrels per day and primary products consist of gasoline, diesel, and asphalt. Modern day Cheyenne houses a multitude of state government offices and the railroad remains a major economic force in the city. Both the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and the Union Pacific Railroad employ many local residents.
