Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania

Beaver Falls is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, thirty miles northwest of Pittsburg, located on the Beaver River near its junction with the Ohio River, and on the Pennsylvania and New York Central railroads. Originally called Brighton, Beaver Falls was chartered as a borough in 1868; it spans a total area of 2.3 square miles and is home to nearly 10,000 residents. Between 1940 and 2000, Beaver Falls experienced a drop of nearly 50% in population, due largely to its location in the Rust Belt and the decline in steel-making.
