Established in 1816 along the bend of the Ohio River, Mount Vernon is a city in southern Indiana and the county seat of Posey County. The city is home to nearly 7,000 citizens and is part of the Evansville metropolitan area, which has an estimated population of 342,000. Mount Vernon has an active business and commercial climate.
