Wallingford, Connecticut

Approximately 126 people settled in the town of Wallingford when it was incorporated on May 12, 1670. Over the past decade, Wallingford has diversified its commercial and industrial base attracting technology industries versus traditional heavy manufacturing. It is home to a broad range of industries including medical, health care, service, hi-tech specialty metal manufacturing and research development. The construction and development of the Barnes Industrial Park, Casimir Pulaski Industrial Park, Wharton Brook Industrial Park, and the South Turnpike Road area have greatly contributed to the transition. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Wallingford’s largest taxpayer, has established a research and development facility in Wallingford’s MedWay Industrial Park. Other large employers in Wallingford include Masonic Healthcare Center, Quest Diagnostics, Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford School District (including Lyman Hall High School), and Choate Rosemary Hall School.
